Mumbai is not a city, it is a beehive!

Image
Of course, it is a city in the literal light-bulbs of the mind. For the sake of proving a point, the title had to be quirky. The bus ride, connected minds, helpful people, random smiles and yet again wada pav. Though by now I have also started eating poha and aloo ke parathe for breakfast. I used to eat from a shop outside Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital. Suddenly, that has changed. I found a better place around 25 steps from the original one. After breakfast, I head down to another stall for tea. In front of that is a naariyal paani waala . Why did I call it a beehive? Take a look at the picture. What do you see? Photo by  Atharva Tulsi  on  Unsplash 14.09.2019 - 12:59 PM Whoever that Shivendu was. Haven't been able to spot the shop from a few days. There's one general thing though. I feel like everyone is quite frustrated here. Like all the time. I was told that this is the city's love for you. And I am getting it. The words are supremacy. They love yo...

Let's cook some history!

Image
Mrs. Suveni Balan From history lessons based on drawings to discussing the Mumbai traffic, an evening with my former history teacher brought back so much as well as some new insights about the city. I learnt about schools that had their roots in Germany. The ones that did not restrict their students to code but instead the morals. Sitting down on the floor, sharing and washing your own dishes is more important than the length of your hair. A neat look does, make one look presentable. Certainly not what I am in the above picture. The first thing I did next morning was to shave my uneven beard. You can't even call that a beard. I have bushes on my face. She treated me with dishes from Kerala. Some sweet thing rolled in Maida ( Edit :  The sweet dish is actually called ada. It is made of rice atta rolled in banana leaves (I (Suveni Ma'am) removed the banana leaves before giving it to you) with Jaggery, dry fruits, and coconut * ) , shaped like a triangle. Then there was Tof...

Entering the Indian Film Industry - Phase 3 begins here..

Image
Photo by  Joseph Pearson  on  Unsplash Ad films, research and wada pav. This is how the man who wants a piece of the cake in the Indian Film Industry begins his journey. Everyone out there has already swallowed a word into their superior consciousness that I do not prefer much. Arrey bhai kuch badal ke dekho, sab kuch badal jaayega.  I have already started making videos with my new K20 Pro which will go down into the video that I will make for Phase 233, haha I just mistyped 233, damn it! I did it again. Phase 3 Everything can go downhill from here. There is fear, heartache and a burning desire. The burning desire will keep you alive. Why am I being a teacher? You already know what you have to do and I know you will get there one day, keep believing. The videos, aah. Slow-motion videos from my K20 Pro are coming out nicely. I plan to make some eye-soothing and aesthetically mind-numbing visuals from it given that it fulfils a promise of being a good cellu...

Shimmer of Hope - Ranjit Sinha (May 31, 1960 - July 31, 2019)

Ranjit Sir It was a gloomy afternoon and when I say gloomy, I mean I was sad. Really sad. Seeing his face would always bring a smile to my face. I would greet him, he'd greet me back and then we went behind the Police Station (a carefully designed movie-set in the premises of my college from where I did my graduation). He used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and was told by people that it was a bad habit. I remember reading it in a comment on Facebook. When I used to ask him about his cigarettes, he used to tell me that he knows what he is smoking and the quality of the product and he even told me why they are so cheap. Knowledge was his weapon. Photographers in the college treated him like a knight in shining armour who will solve all their problems. Guess what, he did. His words were enough. Getting back to that evening... There I was sitting on this elevated cemented structure, a narrow line near a public toilet that was used by industry professionals. I once whined about ...

Fathers, teach your sons to invest in the Indian Market

Since the first video of Finnovationz, that my eyes pondered upon - a sudden awareness quotient arose. Everything that we do today affects our tomorrow and this level of thinking has to be developed. "Aisi thinking develop karni padti hai." Ever thought hard on this one? Well, I did, and here lies the escalation that my mind achieved. Photo by  Annie Spratt  on  Unsplash India's economy is booming at a rapid rate, I feel the scope for smaller startups and businesses to emerge has only started. With brokerage firms like Zerodha who provide services required by the young populous at astonishing rates, we are heading towards a bright future. Sone ke chidiya ko vaapas laana hai na? And for the man/woman reading this and thinking ye bol kya raha hai?  - Aquafina aur Pepsico ko chodho, Bisleri pe aa jao.  Indian brands, Indian investments and more money to services that our from our homeland. There's a lot of buzz surrounding Tata Motors working on newe...
